Good Neighbor Day ~ September 28th

National Good Neighbor Day is September 28th.  National Good Neighbor Day encourages acts of kindness and strengthens community ties among neighbors.  Some ideas to celebrate National Neighbor Day by: Being thoughtful: Offer to help a neighbor with a task, like gardening or running errands. Share treats: Bake some cookies or make a double batch of your favorite food to share. Share a smile or a wave: See someone walking down the street, getting out of their car?  Say hello with a smile and a wave. Showing appreciation: Write a letter of encouragement or express gratitude to a neighbor. Connecting with neighbors: Host a casual get-together like “donuts on the driveway” or an informal chat. Improving your community: Go for a walk and pick up litter along the sidewalk.

Rural Road Gate

The Rural Road gates are currently non-functional.  A circuit board faulted and needs to be replaced.  It has been ordered and is being sent as fast as possible to the vendor so they can install it.  We anticipate they will be functional by the end of the day on Friday. Thank you for your patience.

It's Spring Time...Rye Grass Transition Back to Bermuda Grass

As nighttime temperatures in the Southwest start to creep up into the 60s, the Bermuda grass, which has been dormant all winter, begins to wake up and grow. As daytime temperatures exceed 90 degrees, the winter Ryegrass should begin to recede. It is during this transition period where both types of grass compete for space and water. Transitioning from Ryegrass to Bermuda grass is, ideally, a gradual process that typically lasts from the beginning of mid-April through mid-June depending on weather conditions.   The wilting ryegrass may cause you to think your lawn isn’t getting enough water, however, increasing the water supply will continue to nurture the Ryegrass which would make for a more difficult transition period.  Be patient...before long your summer lawn will be in full beauty mode, once again.
